A floor runner is never the first item on a home decor shopping list, but it can be a smart addition. If you have the right space for it, that extra sliver of texture can instantly warm up a room, and the dose of pattern can add a bit of visual interest or tie colors together. Do you have one?

No need for one...
1I have a 9 foot runner that I bought in Asia about 8 years ago; but I only bring it out during fall and winter months. I clean it and tuck it under a bed during spring and summer months when I want things to be light and airy. When fall rolls around I like things to have a cozy/warm vibe, so I break it out- it looks gorgeous on my hardwood floors and instantly changes the mood of my entry.
2I have a great sisal runner that I found on naturalarearugs.com
3No. I wish I can install a runner or area rug. I love those elements. Unfortunately for me, I have a long-hair cat that coughs up hair balls (sorry if that's too graphic). It would stain rugs and runners, and end up looking gross.
4I'm currently trying to make one - six feet long but I'm only three inches into it. I'll qualify for social security before it's done.
5Nope, just area rugs..
6Yeah, currently thinking about one for the long hallway so the carpet doesn't get matted down... now I just need the right colors/texture.
7I wish I did! We have a heavy traffic area on the carpet and I think it's just begging for a runner. We are putting bamboo flooring in this weekend and I think the right runner would polish the look of the room right up.
