Anthropologie at ShopStyle

Unless you live in a new home, you may be troubled with the residue of years of previous owners and tenants — translation: layers and layers of paint, old wallpaper, etc. If your home's hardware has borne the brunt of this, you've come to the right place. You can easily bring your wall hooks and doorknobs to their former glory on your stovetop! Just mix a quart of water with four tablespoons of baking soda in a pot or pan you no longer use for cooking, and simmer your hardware in the solution for 20 minutes. Then, let the solution cool, and scrub off the paint with some steel wool. Need some steel wool or a one-time use pot? Check your local dollar store.
