I live in an area that isn't prone to wildfires. The grass here is wet wet wet from all the rain here. We have riverbank flooding warnings here!

I live in LA, so they are common, but I don't worry about them because I don't live anywhere near the forests/mountains. My main problem during wildfire season is the air quality (not that it's great to begin with).

Obviously I feel badly for those affected by the fires, but at a certain point you start to notice that people will clean up the remnants of a destroyed home, and then build in that lot again! Or build near it, or in a similar area, and it's just like... you KNOW that that area is prone to wildfires, yet you build anyways? It seems like people ignore it and then are surprised when it happens, and that's annoying.

We get them a lot here in Oregon, but they are a totally different beast than the California ones. Those are so fast-moving, I'd be really nervous living in a fire zone down there.

I live in Florida, but I'm not worried... I live in "sunshine city", st. petersburg, one of the cities in the US with the least amount of rainfall... I just have faith in my smoke detectors... I wouldn't care if I lost my apartment and everything, as long as I got out ok.

I actually live in Santa Barbara and I've been in the evacuation warning area the whole time this fire has been burning
