I recently wrote about mismatched dining chairs, with a photo of a table furnished with all mismatching chairs. Several of you did not approve of the look, but I loved it. I just came across this photo from the portfolio of prop stylist Lili Diallo, and noticed a slight variation of the technique. The bentwood chairs are actually all the same, but one of them was painted red. In the beautifully styled photo, it works, but I think if the chair were moved to the near side of the table, it would just look off. On the other hand, having two red chairs at the heads of the table would definitely work for me. What do you think?

I love it, it reminds me of adding a pop of colour to a monochrome outfit.
nah...
It would drive me crazy. I'm one of those people who can't stand mismatched ANYTHING.
Nope, it throws of the general theme of the room. Not cute.
i prefer all mismatching chairs as you reviewed before. like on friends. but this is cute and kooky too just don't know if i'd want it in the house. mismatch in styles yes but maybe not colour. it bugs me enough with underwear and i can't even see that!x
I agree with c4rolin3. I prefer all mismatched rather than just one.
I actually have 3 creme chairs and 1 burgundy in my living room, it works really well, but I can see why so many people are weary of it.
Just one mismatched draws to much attention to that chair... But I liked the previous ideia, more than one mismacthed looks cool.
Mismatched chairs just look friendlier, but the same chair in a different color really doesn't seem mismatched to me. I like the pop of color, though.
