While rumors have been swirling for several years that Candy Spelling was quietly shopping around her Holmby Hills mansion, the home is now officially for sale. And at $150 million, it's the most expensive home on the market in the United States.
The house, which is built on the former site of Bing Crosby's Hollywood home, is a 56,000-square-foot mansion built in a French chateau style and sits on over 4.6 acres. The house is absolutely massive, with more than 100 rooms, although neither the listing agent nor the owner herself can tally the exact number at this time. With a beauty salon, bowling alley, screening room, wine cellar and — yes, I kid you not — a gift-wrapping room, you can see why the excess might be difficult to keep track of.
"Everything there is glamorous, and is luxurious and it’s really great scale,” said Sally Forster Jones, an agent with Coldwell Banker Previews International in Los Angeles, which is colisting the property. “There really is nothing to compare it to.”

Spelling, who's due to move into a Century City high-rise penthouse, which is only about 16,500 square feet, apparently won't budge on the price of the Holmby Hills mansion. Her attorney, Stephen Goldberg, told the Wall Street Journal "The ones who could afford it three years ago, can still afford it today."

I feel like living there would be like living in mall. It could be fun at first, but I would get over it really quick and just stick to a few rooms.
1it should be turned into a hotel or something. who has use for a 100 rooms?
2It is a beautiful property but definately all in excess.
3Looks like too far of a walk to the pool for me
4i want to know who can afford to buy this house!
5some oil tycoon will probably end up with it. and yeah, it would make a good hotel.
6I agree it needs to be turned into a hotel or the Jolie-Pitt Clan needs it if they are going to be adding more kids to their family and then rooms for all their staff and help.
7Yes, I thought about buying it myself, but figure I'd rather keep my vacation house in Hawaii...better views you know...
8Cute for a starter home, I suppose.
9I can hear it now " CAN SOMEONE FIND THE DOG AND LET HIM OUT"
10Insane!!!
11Its a waste of space really... who needs that much room
12well according to the source it's mostly hotel investors that are calling!
13Makes sense, I mean what else could you do with it?
