How-To: Help Carnations Make a Comeback
If you're a
Sex and the City fan, you probably remember the incident from season six where Charlotte declares, "Yuck! Filler flowers!" at the insult of receiving carnations. Poor carnations. Will they ever get respect? Check out my slideshow to see my thoughts on championing this "filler" flower.

Ha, I feel the same way. World's cheapest flower.
1A flower is a flower is a flower. I think if they're presented in the correct way, they can be gorgeous.
2I love carnations, they are one of my favorite flowers! They last forever, even if it's just a bouquet, they smell amazing, and yes, they are cheap, but that's part of why I like them! Expensive doesn't necessarily mean better!
3Love carnations, esp pink ones. I grew many roses and other flowers but have always loved carnations, and wild purple lilacs. I'd take a bunch of carnations over roses any day.
4All flowers are pretty, but carns are my least fav. A FEW mini-carns are cute in a spring nosegay, though.
5My sorority flower is the carnation, so sure, they should make a comeback
6I'll forever think of that SATC episode.
7No way, I hate carnations. They stink too.
8Why would you do that? Carnations may have a nice smell and be reasonably pretty, but they totally smell like dead people to me. Every time I smell them, every funeral I've ever been to comes rushing back.
Please, don't give anyone you like carnations. I can't be the only one making this association.
9You may not be the only one making that association, but it also doesn't mean everyone agrees with you. Carnations are my favorite flowers. I love how they smell, how they look, how long they last, and that I can buy them often without spending a fortune. White carnations were the only flowers I would allow at my Christmas wedding, and it was gorgeous!!!!!
10I love the smell of carnations. They always remind me of the first time I went to Africa.
11Don't call it a comeback. Carnations been here for years! I love carnations — when they're arranged well, as in this slideshow.
