I would totally be breaking out my seam ripper and carefully undo all the stitches and go shopping. In other words, no way in hell I'm buying that. Those poor dollar bills!
Really? This country is such a joke. How many people do we have out of jobs right now in this country? (and don't try and feed me a line about putting money into the economy by buying this
bear)
Not to mention homeless, starving, in need of health care but can't afford it. Mothers who have to steal baby food and diapers from the store because they can't afford to feed their children.
(Right, maybe they shouldn't have children in the first place, but still). There are countries where children wake up at 5:30 in the morning and walk six miles to school through very
dangerous neighborhoods just to get ONE cup of porridge to feed their family FOR A WEEK. (Yes, in some countries children are given food as incentive to go to school). Ugh this makes me so
angry. I'm sorry but seriously, this makes me sick. How about instead of buying this bear, you donate that money to a food program, or a shelter, or a charity that is going to do some good in
the world?
I'm going to step off of my soap box now.
jsscdb, You are so right... things like this really piss me off... As if the US wasn't in bad enough shape.... have to go and waste money on this thing.
Also, they had a Cow Parade in Pennsylvania several years ago - '04 - and one of the cows was decorated with pennies all over it and was set outside of a bank. The cow was $4K and then
sponsors paid $6K more, so that's $10K to promote their business by having someone decorate it with pennies. Then, some idiots were chipping at it so that they could get some PENNIES. LOL!
Maybe these are dollar bills that have been taken out of circulation. Otherwise, I would think it would be illegal. Either way, Vivre can keep the bear.
Davetherave, that's a little different... correct me if I'm wrong but the Cow Parade cows are created by artists, and the money from the sales goes to charity. This just seems to be a rich
person toy...
umm aren't money bills and keys supposedly the dirtiest things? From being passed from hand to hand they are more full of germs than even public toilets. Can you imagine snuggling with
that???
and geez for that price you would think it was made out of $50 bills . . .

That's too cute
But real money, though? Maybe if it were just cotton or something..
2Yes and then I would unstitch the bills and go shopping!
3Please tell me the bills are washed before becoming a toy for cuddling!
4is this illegal? Defacing currency or something. I know we shread our old dollar bills, but cant only the treasury do things like that?
5In this day and age, spending $1,200 on a teddy bear made out of dollar bills (that probably cost less than $20 to make) is in extremely poor taste.

Kudos Endomental, you said that much more diplomatically than me.
9lol No way, I don't really like the 'pattern'.
10Isn't that kind of, I don't know... completely frivolous & wasteful?
11Is that what happened when all the money dropped out of the US economy - those freaking Teddy bears?
Also, isn't it a federal offense to do that kind of thing with US bills?
12Gauche.
13no i would not buy that. it probably cost less then $20 to make and i could probably figure out how to make my own.
14It was cute before I read that it was made out of real dollars.
15Isn't that illegal?!?
16Definitely an adorable idea, but the money could be put to better use than being made into a worthless teddy bear...

17Too funny! I like the "Coin Chair" - $59K!!!!!!
18Oh, well. If you have that kind of money, people will make stuff like that. Plain and simple.

22No.
23whatever happened to build-a-bear? thats gross old money, i dont even like touchin it let alone cuddle with it. and isnt defacing money illegal?
24I could see this as an art piece, but not marketed as a 'toy'. Pretty tasteless in this (or any) financial climate.
