If you're a fan of Shakespearean romance (without, you know, the death and deception), then consider heading to Verona to get married on the same balcony where Juliet supposedly lived. The balcony is located on the second floor of the supposed 14th-century Casa di Giulietta (home of Juliet) in Verona, Italy. While Italian folklore claims that the balcony was part of the home of the Renaissance-era Cappellos (supposedly the family portrayed in William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet as the Capulets), there is no solid evidence to confirm this claim.

However, if you're still into the fantasy, starting in April you can get married on the balcony for a fee of 1,000 euros ($1,300 for us non-Europeans, unfortunately). This payment will ensure you rental of the house (and balcony) for a wedding, although the ceremony itself will be performed inside the home. However, an after-service kiss on the balcony outside sounds fabulously romantic, yes? Contact the Verona Tourist Center for all the details.

Nice, but you could do this here in the States at certain places.
1That sounds beautiful! I might have to consider getting married again! Ha.
2And fluerfairy, I don't think I understand what you're saying? The Cappellos never lived in the states, I don't think....
What a lovely way to get married!
3Well, it's folklore - "supposedly" the family portrayed in R&J. And Shakespeare didn't even invent this story. He took the idea from his contemporary Kit Marlowe, as I learned in one of my Shakespeare classes in college. So the odds of this being the actual balconey are slim to none.
4But it's a romantic idea anyway
5Cute.
6I've been there. The courtyard is so cute, and there is a bronze statue of Juliet, and if you rub her boob you're supposed to have luck in love. I have a really funny photo of my mom rubbing Juliet's boob!
7I already have a 2nd story balcony...I could just get married here. Ch-right! I want a traditional wedding right here in the US of A.
