To make a big visual impact, mix curtain colors in a room. Use colors that complement the interior elements of the room, such as the green and red that's used in this decadently decorated living room. If you're working in a very minimally patterned room, consider mixing a patterned curtain panel with a solid panel.

This is a bit off-topic, but when i was a poor college student and wanted to put up some sort of curtains in my dorm room without spending a lot, I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics and bought a few yards of muslin and just tacked them up over the large window. Obviously you would never do this in a house, but it worked for the room. Anyway, that is the first thing i thought of when i read "instant curtain"
1Great suggestions. I have these amazing fabric shower curtains I got from CB2 that I use in my bedroom. They have the perfect colors of sea foam, teal, brown that go with my room colors.
