Hi CasaSugar,
I was wondering if you have ever done a post about how to hang photos on an exposed brick wall. I did a search, but I may have missed it. I want to find good directions before I just start hacking away with my hammer.
Thanks,
Modus Vivendi

Hi Modus Vivendi,
First things first: Step away from the hammer! While this might work on a temporary basis, it could damage the wall. And while your artwork is, I'm sure, gorgeous, it will look even better when it's displayed on a pretty, intact brick wall.
Try using spring clips that grip the bottom and top of a brick. Ask a friendly employee at your local Ace hardware store to order them for you. You might also want to try using Brick Clips. I also also love these brick wall picture hooks, since they come in different strengths depending on how heavy your art or mirror may be.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for dealing with a brick wall? Leave your advice in the comments!
Cheers,
Casa

Thanks! I have never seen those before. I will look at the hardware store this weekend
1I've got to keep a lookout for these next time...
2Masonry bit on a drill and then soft metal anchors... ideally into the mortar... works for adding mantels, and would work for any heavier art.
3Take a look at the Griplock Systems cable method for hanging artwork. All of the art is suspended from cables from a track. The track mounting is the only holes that you have to drill and it makes changing out or adjusting artwork very easy. Go to griplocksystems.com to see
4Anyone have advice for hanging things on outdoor brick walls? We need to hang a plaque with our house number and I'd LOVE to install a flagpole holder, but I want to be careful with the brick.
5Thanks for the tips!
6Thanks Casa.
7I know that hanging things on your wall can be quite scary, but I have the solution you are looking for to hang anything on brick walls or any other wall for that matter.
My recommendation is an Alligator anchors from TOGGLER.
These anchors have been around for a long time and are the best in the market, plus they are easy to install and will hold an enormous amount of weight.
Go to www.toggler.com for further information.
Good luck
