I've been looking for a classic, affordable console table with nice curves to lighten the mood of some of my sleeker modern pieces, and I think I've found it. Aside from its partial engineered wood construction (also made of pine), I really can't go wrong with the JCPenney Collin Table ($149, reduced from $229). Its turned wood legs are timeless, its x-base is elegant and personable, and its black finish is certainly versatile. What's not to love? Well, I might switch out the knobs for something with a little more kick, but other than that, I'm sold!

Sorry, yuck. The woodwork and base are speaking two different languages (in a bad way).
1Eh it's okay.
2I love this table too. I just ordered it, it was marked down to 89.99, and I got free shipping.
