I think I'm over the chalkboard trend. This Chalkboard Graffiti Storage Bench (out of stock), which is made of erasable washable vinyl and comes with white chalk, has just gone too far.
I guess in a way this product is innovative, but since when does leaving notes and jotting reminders for yourself have to come at the expense of aesthetics? I don't see anything attractive about this bench, and vinyl is certainly not my textile of choice. I'd much prefer a beautiful Suzani bench and a traditional notepad instead. Take a look at all of these benches and tell me if you'd prefer this rec-room seating.

I completely agree. I don't hate it but it's not my favourite either- it looks a little peculiar as a whole material chalkboard!
Maybe a children's wooden bench with the sides painted as chalkboard would be better- nice idea but just bad result.
The Suzani bench is cute, but there's nicer at Laura Ashley... where I'm off to this weekend- 25% off (".) Excellent!x
1I don't get the trend either, am I the only one who suffered sitting by a chalkboard in school inhaling chalk dust? Why would you want that in your home.
2I don't like this. And no donnellyaa, I suffered too! The chalk always bothered me.
3For a kid, sure.
4it doesn't sit well with me.
5it doesn't LOOK like it's suppose to be drawn on.
I hate it. But it would be okay if it was in a child's playroom or something...I guess.
6Only in a teen's room decorated with ghosts and goblins!
