Painting an accent wall is the simplest way to create a focal point in any room of a house. It requires just a little paint and a little time, and it's not as risky as painting an entire room. I'm loving this yellow wall from Harts Lane, a rental cottage in Australia. The room is fabulous otherwise in many ways, but the sunny color is just the finishing touch that the monochrome palette needs. Do you have an accent wall?

rab - print off a pic and take it into lowes, they usually do a pretty good job of matching paint colors, although i doubt it would be the exact brand and such.

7in college we were "allowed" (read "didn't ask and just did it and claimed we thought it was ok at the end of the school year when we got in trouble") to paint the walls in our house... i convinced my friends we needed an accent wall in the living room and i did it a charcoal grey on the wall opposite a wall full of built ins and then i painted the back wall of a couple of the shelves grey as well... and styled them with cool accassories and books...it was super chic.

11Our apartment complex has four colors to choose from and you just pick a wall in the living room. I chose to paint the "dining area" wall a chocolate brown. I love it!

The wall dividing my kitchen and living room is a reddish-orange color, while the other walls are white. I love it, it's the first thing you see when you walk in my house. Although I am digging that yellow in the picture, I may need to repaint soon
14I did in my old apartment, but not in the townhouse I live in now.
I will be repainting my living room/dining area soon, so I'll have to keep this in mind.
15We will be this weekend - a Behr shade called 'Bitter Chocolate', which is coincidentally the same colour as the homemade amaretto truffles I've been noshing all morning! We'll be following up the painting with bright white crown moldings - our landlord is awesome and open to whatever improvements we want to make.
16I wanted to when I painted my living room two years ago. Unfortunately, I was overruled.

I'm not sure what color paint that is. But yea, definitely print out the page and have it color-matched, or try out some samples!
