Gorgeous rooms "with libraries and wood-burning fireplaces" make the "small, quiet, uptown luxury hotel"
the Lowell a favorite spot of Gwyneth's. I'm sure its location a block from Central Park and an easy stroll from Barneys, Bloomie's, Bergdorf's, and Bendel's also score points with this ultrafashionable mommy. The 17-story apartment hotel has a modern Art-Deco facade and was designed in 1893. The interior features a classic European style and plenty of exquisite antiques and a wonderful collection of New York City-themed artwork. Several of its suites were recently redone by renowned interior designer Michael Smith, who was just
selected to redecorate the Obama's White House quarters and who designed one of Paltrow's LA faves,
Shutters Hotel on the Beach.
