The Bowery "very cool spot, with the people to match." With tasseled room keys, dark wood throughout, velvet settees, and Persian rugs, this hip luxury boutique hotel on the Lower East Side evokes Old New York. Though it was designed with a prewar aesthetic, it has all the modern conveniences that its hipster set adores. Paltrow says she "wouldn't recommend it to the Park Avenue set," but her "English rock star friends can’t get enough of it." English rock stars, hmm? I wonder who that could be . . .
