Hello CasaSugar,
I have a collection of perfect condition '50s aprons. These things are cute! I would love to display them but I have no idea how. I have a hook that I hang my everyday apron on, but I don't think 10 aprons would look good on that! If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it!

Hi Natalie,
I, too, am an apron fan, so I can understand your impulse to decorate with them. According to Country Living, vintage aprons, if they're in pristine condition, can fetch a decent price, too, so your collection isn't simply sentimental, it may also be valuable.
There are a number of ways you could display your collection. Here are a few of my suggestions:
- Choose shadowbox frames, and carefully fold your aprons so they display the best section of each. Then, hang the aprons, in the frames, in a collection of three or more aprons.
- Make curtains out of the aprons by hanging them from curtain hooks along a kitchen window.
- Follow Punk Glam Queen's lead and simply hang your aprons together in your kitchen. You can use cute coordinated hooks to pull the collection together.
- Try tying your aprons around kitchen chairs or stools as chair skirts.
- Take photos of your aprons and create a gallery of apron photos, if you don't want to fold and display the real aprons in frames.

I love vintage aprons, I have one from my mom.
1I love aprons too especially vintage ones. I was going to suggest the curtain idea as well. And I love the idea of using them as skirts on chairs.
2Ooh I also like the idea of tying them around chairs as skirts! I'm going to try this today!
3I definitely love the curtain idea!
4I love these ideas and hope that Natalie posts pictures when she does get her aprons up!
5I don't if this helps, but generally collections look better if there aren't too many pieces on display and those that are have been carefully chosen based on color, style, and the way they work with each other and the rest of the room.
6What if you got a cloth top dress form where you could display a new apron each month or so and the top could double as a pin board.
7My house has 400-square-foot enclosed porches, one on the front of the house, one on the back, with high ceilings (10 feet, I think). This leaves about 3 feet of wall space above the windows all around. I bought some cotton clothesline, sunk lag bolts in the studs all around the front porch, and strung clothesline through the bolts. I used red plastic clothespins to hang all my aprons from the clothesline.
One thing I do not like about many suggestions for displaying aprons is that so often we're told to hang them in a window. They will fade, and fast! My display space is well lit, but the aprons never get direct sunlight, so the fading is going to be very, very slow.
