Resolutions are often made with the best intentions — and then promptly forgotten. This year, I'm going to try very hard to stick to my eco-oriented New Year's resolutions. Starting off, I'm going to try to keep a better attitude about living green. I won't complain when we keep the heat down, but I'll instead try to cheerfully don a sweater and a pair of slippers. After all, turning down the thermostat saves you green, as well as helping out the environment.
Other resolutions include finally buying rain barrels for the house, expanding my garden, and remembering to use carbon offsets for my plane travel.
What are your green resolutions for 2009?

I have my New Years ahead of me with making my life a little more organized and being more economical. I also am trying to eat more organic stuff. I am trying to recycle as well.
1My New Year's resolution is to finally start using all the eco-friendly bags I have for groceries. I have them I just seem to always forget them. Also I'm going to try and cut down on all the bottled water and start trying filtered tap water.
2I already recycle paper, plastic and aluminum. I also use the eco-friendly bags,at first I would forget to take them into the store but it has became a habit now. I have also reduced my consumption of bottled water. Just remember to reduce, reuse and recycle.
3Be more dedicated composters!
4I'm excited about starting to compost - now that we've moved we'll have the space, AND we'll have the plants that need the mulch.
I am also going to head to the farmer's market more - buy local, eat more produce AND see my friend who has a stall there. Good all around!
5My green goals for this year are:
1) Eat vegetarian at least 2 night a week
2) Bring reusable bags for ALL shopping, not just grocery shopping
3) Find a local farm to get dairy and poultry from
4) Make more food from scratch so I don't buy so much packaging from my grocery store.
We'll see how I do
6Waste less food and eat more home cooked meals from quality fresh foods. Last year had a lot of major changes for me, composting organically eating to name a few but I still seem to throw out a lot of food that gets old before I eat it and that really needs to stop.
7Mine goals: 3 veggie meals a week, reusable bags all the time (i'm getting better at this), go to the farmer's market weekly, fix my own food and expand my balcony garden.
8I also have had a bad habit of forgetting to bring my reusable grocery bags with me to the store. This year I'm going to actually use them, drink more soy milk, and purchase more organic produce and not let it go to waste!
9Keep the heat down
10Take shorter showers
Drive less
Reduce what I use & buy
