The word silhouette comes from Etienne de Silhouette, an 18th French finance minister who was known for his tightfisted economic standards. It was used with the art form because before photography, silhouette profiles cut from black card were the cheapest way to record a person's appearance. Today, silhouettes are a trend in interior design, not used out of financial necessity, and often painted rather than cut. Do you have any?

My aunt has some of her children and it's a bit strange.
1my husband and i are thinking about putting up some of ourselves to fit our very seventies den.
2I made some of our dogs as puppies about a year ago from a picture that I blew up on a copy machine and then cut out of black paper. I think they are a really fun thing to have!!!
3I think I'm going to do one of my son when he's a little older.
4My parents had one made of me when I was little. I'd love to get it and then display it along with one of my own daughter (if I ever have one).
5Well no, but I think that they look nice and I do not mind having one in my pad.
6I don't have any, but would love to. They are very retro and vintage.
