I haven't seen much of songstress Michelle Branch these days. But the Union Jack bathroom rug in her recently listed Nashville property is a familiar face. Although the lady is an Arizona native, she was named after the Beatles song "Michelle," which in my mind gives her ample right to adorn her home with a Brit flag. To find out where you can get one of your own Union Jack rugs, read more.
Michelle's rug is the VW Flag Rug (inquire for price) designed by English fashion designer Vivienne Westwood for the Rug Company. I must say it's a pretty fabulous design. I'm sure my girl FabSugarUK would agree with me!

I adore the bathroom!x
I was doing some browsing round Selfridges the other day (UK) and found some cushions of the union jack and American flag. Wholesome though rather than cheap and tacky in a woven design, would be lovely on a big cosy sofa. Unfortunately I can't find any links to post!
1I also adore VW too- call me a fashion victim but this makes me love it even more (".) x
2Union Jack bathroom rug?!?! I want!
3Cupcakers, it's actually just a rug...not a terrycloth bathroom rug, but she's used it in the bathroom.
4forget about the rug(even though i do like that too)....that bathtub is AMAZING!!!
5I think some things should not be made into rugs, and a flag is one of them, no matter what country it belongs. I know that for Union Jack there are no prescriptions regarding the use and disposal of the flag in a manner akin to the United States Flag Code but I still find it, well, not kosher!
6That's an interesting perspective, flyingroo. Does anyone agree?
7omg want!!
8LOVE it!
9Ha thanks Casa,my bad- it doesn't look like a terry cloth bathroom rug! I wouldn't use it for a bathroom rug, but in a living room would be more appropriate considering it's a country flag. I see your point flyingroo, never thought about that at first!
10I agree- I'd feel somewhat perverse walking on (getting my grubby shoes on, etc.) a standard which is supposed to represent a country. Maybe we feel that way because we were raised in the US, where the flag is nearly worshipped as a holy item, akin to the body of Christ/communion (which also cannot drop onto the floor)?
