Granny was on to something with her doilies, but she just needed some helpful hints from a contemporary mind to get them looking right. I love the first and last tables, and the lamp shade made with the antique doilies. I was recently in Malta and on the island of Gozo the women there are known for their lace making. Their lace doilies are gorgeous! They are so intricate and delicate, some of them take up to a year to complete. I've always loved beautiful doilies.
