While I don't mind the smell of cigars quite as much as I do the smell of cigarettes, I'd still never allow either to be smoked in my house. The smell seems to invade every fabric-covered surface, and if someone smokes in a home long enough, the wood surfaces and walls will even absorb the scent. Sometimes, though, you have to make exceptions for a particularly stubborn relative with a passion for cigars. What's your policy?

Hell no.
1I do not let anyone smoke cigarettes or cigars in my house. That's all I'm going to say.
2My house = my rules. No exception. Thank goodness I haven't had to deal with anyone who didn't have the courtesy to go outside!
3Lawchick, hehehehe. I have a total moratorium on smoking inside, but you can smoke whatever you want on my back deck, be it cigarettes, cigars, or. . .whatever
4No, we are a completely smoke free home.
5Lawchick said it right. I also have a balcony that people can smoke their cigs on.
6Absolutely not.... it's a smoke free zone and it's going to stay that way.I don't want that stank in my home.
7My husband smokes the occasional cigar, but outside only.
When we were house hunting we found a large house in a nice neighborhood but the smoker who lived there for 30 years make the place Reek! It was so bad that the agent told us we'd have to replace the carpet and drywall just to get rid of it so we skipped that one.
8wow, I can't believe people would even consider it!!!! If you want to smoke, go outside. I don't want my stuff stinkin!
9I rent and I made an agreement with my landlord there would be no smoking inside. So if people have a problem with it, I can always use my landlord for an excuse.
But I do keep an ashtray and two chairs on the porch for my friends and family who do smoke.
10I live with my boyfriend who is a smoker. And even he smokes outside on the porch. I can only remember one time when he smoked in the house and that was during a hurricane... and even then, I think he stayed in the garage.
I can't imagine going into someone's home and demanding to be allowed to smoke a cigar/cigarette. That's pretty inconsiderate, if not downright rude.
11My husband and I don't even smoke inside our own house - no way and I letting anyone else do it.
12and I = am I ... oops.
13hell no!
14Not a chance. No smoking of any kind whatsoever.
15No smoking in my house or car ever. If they must smoke then it is outside and I am usually standing a fair distance away so I don't get their nasty passive smoke.
16My ex's granddad smoked daily. It stank the house out and turned the walls and ceiling brown. It was disgusting. Whenever I visited them and he would light up I'd excuse myself and go outside (so I could breathe) and talk through to them via the open back door until the smoke cleared. I felt rude in a way but I considered my health as paramount to anything else. I'd then have to wash my clothes and self when I got home cause I reeked from just sitting on their lounge for a hour.
no one's ever had the gall to light up in my home. I think everyone knows the polite thing to do is go outside. Cigars wouldn't bother me, but cigs stink everything up!
17NO. We rent and I'll be damned if we're going to have our deposit deducted more if there's smoke smell in our condo.
18Of course, we have a small yard where all my fiancee's friends smoke, but even then, they need to clean up their ciggie butts.
I can't stand the smell of smoke now more than ever. I wouldn't want that in my house if I could help it.
19Yea...I don't mind. Real smokes I don't like cuz I don't smoke them...
20My parents smoke, but only on the back patio. Honestly, if you didn't know that they smoked, you would never suspect it. We use different things to keep the house smelling nice.
21I quit smoking 20 yrs ago when I was preggers.. so we've never smoked in our house.. I know we had a couple ppl sneak one in.. but I can't count on one hand how many times that happened!!
22omg! this reminds me of my cousin's baby shower when this disgusting girl just lit one up like it was nothing. sure she stepped out to the porch but it was a freakin baby shower! and there were babies there! including her daughter. ugh!
23No smoking in our house! But if you want to smoke outside, go ahead. =)
24I smoke, and I go outside. So, if I can do it, so can every one else.
25My husband only smokes in our garage (or outside)so I expect the same of any visiting smokers!
26my roommate smokes. i make her go outside to do it and stay out there for at least ten minutes after she's done so she doesnt come in smelling like smoke. maybe a little drastic, but i dont like the smell and she agreed to that when she moved in.
27I am a smoker but I never let anybody smoke in my house, I dont even smoke in my house, thats because it stinks and i cant stand having that smell, so we just smoke outside or in the garage
