One of the advantages of living in the Bay Area is that I can count on blooming trees or bushes year-round. Even if it's just a humble single flower in a bud vase, I can add life to a room without spending a penny. Do you try to have fresh flowers in your house, too?

I get fresh flowers a lot during Spring and Summer for some reason. I tend to slack off after August. But perhaps now I'll go out and get a nice Fall bouquet for myself!
I love them but so do the cats so I only get them every so often.
I'll buy fresh flowers whenever we are hosting a party or out-of-town guests.
Rarely ever fresh flowers, but always plants!
During the spring & summer I always have cuts of flowers from our yard. This time of year, I buy them at the grocery whenever I remember.
I may get flowers in the house once a year. I don't have the space to have them around. Once we move into our new home I'm sure I will get more into my home. I do grow my own herbs, does that count?
my lovely boyfriend bought me a beauty bouquet so i had some for about 2 weeks in my room and loved them so i plan to have some more often, especially when i move out...i'm counting on him for that, though! he has a killer florist!
I had a nice vase, but the boy knocked it over, and then it was allergy season.
Maybe I should buy another one this weekend. Target, ho!
This is one thing I learned from Apartment Therapy that I TRY to stick with. But it's hard. And my husband seems to think it's a waste of money. But it makes so much of a difference in how your home feels!
I wish! I would definitely have flowers around except my cats chew them and I'm always worried that they might chew something toxic.
I have tulips in the house right now for the first time in a long long time. They look so nice. But my husband is a slacker in the flower-giving dept and I feel uneasy about spending money on them too often.
We have many many rose bushes in our front yard. So fresh cut roses are pretty much a daily fixture in our house.
I am extremely blessed, my husband still buys me them all the time. I LOVE fresh flowers, plants, etc, it just really brightens up the home.
Always. One day a week at Central Market flowers are 1$ a piece. So I will get 5 individual flowers and put one in the bathroom, one in the bedroom, 2 in the living room and 1 in my kitchen. They last a week and always add a little something, especially in the bathroom and kitchen.
how ever often I am given them
not near as often as I would like
I slave to keep the rose bushes bug-free, so I take particular delight in keeping a few buds on my night table.
I also have cats that used to love to eat the roses, but I started buying "cat grass" (just wheat grass) from PetSmart so they've moved on to chewing that (then throwing it up on the kitchen floor...gross, but I'd rather them eat that than my pretty flowers!)
Yes, but being that, for some reason, I'm not good at keeping some of them alive they don't last long and I have to keep buying them.
