Back in the '70s, avocado was the color of choice for kitchen appliances. Thankfully, we've moved on to a more neutral shade. In her new home that she shares with her boyfriend, Su Casa member Lovely_1 has stainless steel appliances. How about you?

I voted yes, but actually 2 are stainless and one is black. It doesn't bother me, but we'll switch to full stainless when we get ready to sell.
1I do and I could care less. I'm not really into that sort of thing
(house decor)
2I agree with 356UIK -- so I chose other. We have all stainless applicances, but I'm ambivalent about them.
3I prefer white appliances.
4I do and they are not toddler handprint friendy. If I could go back I would not have chosen stainless for that reason.
5piper mine are fingerprint resistant (can't remember the name but they're made by GE) and that does help, but it's still harder to keep looking clean than white would be.
6Thanks for the tip, piper. I love the way stainless looks, but because of the handprint issue, I probably won't go that route.
I love the note and doodle on the dry erase board
7Where's the "No, and I don't want them" option? My sister has them and Piper23 is totally correct they are horrible about showing prints. Although in my sister's case it's husband prints, not toddler.
8No, and I don't want them. Too modern feeling, and they're trendy like granite, which is going to mean seriously dated looking in now-10 yrs depending on location. They're kitchen equivalent of Jennifer Aniston's haircut circa 1995.
9I wish I had them. I love the modern/industrial/concrete & steel genre. Stainless steel just looks clean-cut and sharp.
10I picked other because no i don't have them and i don't want them. We just got a new stove and dishwasher and i picked black i like them better and when it is time to replace our fridge which is white i will get a black one. I'm not a big stainless fan.
11No, and I don't want them too because I Heard that it's really high-maintenance. I'd rather have a black one if I can, right now, I have white.
12My appliances are cream, gag! I wish we could afford new ones, but not right now. Ah well!
13Yeah --- what is with the note and doddle on the white board?
14Is that a drawing of boobs on the white board? I know, I'm immature and nosy. Haha.
15I have stainless appliances and 3 kiddos including a toddler. Yes,you do have to wipe the prints off but generally its not like they smear their hands all over the thing - just around the handle. But I am wondering...magnets don't "stick" to stainless steel, so what's with the magnets and dry erase board? I've also wondered this while watching the random tv show where you see a stainless steel fridge covered with magnets, photos, etc.? Or does my fridge just have a non-magnetic personality? Hm.
16beeps a lot of appliances look like stainless but aren't really! that's the case with my GE "stainless" fridge
17They show usually too many prints, but my bff has some brand new all stainless appliances that have a special varnish over them to prevent that. They are really nice!
18I am with lawchick- I would love to have a Viking range or the real stainless appliances- however regular appliances with a stainless plate covering are a bit cheesy- I'll stick with white until I have my dream kitchen! PLUS, hard desert water is very tough on the steel.
19Lawchick, I think its called Sateen. I have the same thing too. My fridge is a kenmore.
Also, Beeps, my sateen finish fridge is magnetic. Aside from resisting fingerprints, its another benefit.
20method stainless steel spray does a great job on the inevitable finger and hand prints, and it seems to make them not so bad? they don't show up quite as bad as they used to anyway. and definitely get the method microfiber cloth to use with the spray. no lint!
it's really no harder keeping my appliances clean than it was when they were all white.
21I have two stainless steel appliances (cook top and wall oven ) that are original to my house (i.e. circa 1958), a stainless dishwasher that was installed in the 70's and a stainless fridge which we bought when we bought the house last year.
22I have them, but only because my house is new and came with them. I don't hate them, but, given the option, would probably have gone with something else. Maybe avodaco.
23Or avocado, even! Where's that spell-check when I need it.
24I chose other b/c i have a stainless LG dishwasher and all the rest of the appliances are black. We are planning to change everything to stainless, but the dishwasher died ahead of our plans.
25Haha note and boobie drawing = funny!
26We just bought a house and all the appliances are coming with it. We have all of ours black now and the house has stainless. I would prefer black vs stainless also. i prefer ease of cleaning vs the look of something
27We just put an offer on a house (eeeeeeek!!) that has a stainless oven, dishwasher and built-in microwave, so if we get it I guess we'll buy a stainless fridge too. It wouldn't have been my first choice but I can't get rid of perfectly good (and new/nearly new) appliances!
One thing I noticed is that most stainless fridges you see are side-by-side, which is not very efficient. A top- or bottom-freezer in stainless will take some getting used to; I'm not sure I've ever seen one in someone's home before!
28I do not like stainless steel appliances. Totally agree with the person who made the Jennifer Aniston comment. It's too trendy and will look strange in 5 to 10 years. I'm okay with plain white appliances. I would love to have a huge, porcelain, farm style sink though!
29I bought mine a few months ago and I chose white. It's less heavy on the eye and like jdjayne said, I'll probably get stainless steal appliances when they're my dream appliances. Until then, I find it useless.
30I voted other.
Like the other ladies have said, they do show marks really easily, but I don't like how hot they get - that is, stove and kettle appliances. They burn!
I know they don't look as trendy but I prefer coloured plastic where possible
31No, and I don't want them either. I don't want to be paranoid about fingerprints all the time. Give me white and it'll be fine (or maybe a bold colour, like green or blue, for a really modern kitchen).
32No, I don't have them, and unless they were fingerprint resistant, I wouldn't want them either!
33Our 20 year old fixer home came with 20 year old "biscuit" (what?) colored appliances that we're gradually replacing. The dishwasher was the first to go; we now have a stainless steel Kitchenaid. Just replaced the oven/stove with...stainless steel Kitchenaid. Next will be the range hood, then the fridge, and the sink. Stainless steel looks so much cleaner and brighter.
34I personally don't like stainless steel appliances for the majority of kitchens. They work in a more modern, industrial space, but not most family kitchens. The above is a good example - the cabinets and rest of the kitchen are very "warm" and then you have these "cold" looking metal appliances. Just doesn't work for me.
