The folks at Better Homes and Gardens took this modern microsuede slipper chair and reupholstered it in an icy blue fabric with lots of dressmaker details like pleating and tufting. You're probably thinking, "Cool story, Hansel." Right? Well, actually, they tackled the reupholstery themselves, and chronicled the project so we could all have detailed instructions for doing it on our own as well. I'm really impressed with the makeover. Beforehand the chair was simply uninteresting, and now it's sophisticated and detailed. To see the after photo, and hear how you can reupholster a slipper chair on your own, read more.
Beautiful, right? It's such a drastic transformation in style. Check out BH&G to learn how to reupholster a slipper chair yourself!

I definitely like the blue color better than the brown, but the ruffles on the bottom make it look old. I'd take them off and paint the legs a creamy ivory.
1so pretty
2The colours and the fussiness of it all remind me of 80s suburbia, and not in a good way. The blue is nice, but lose the salmon throw pillow.
3I do admit to liking the before better, both style and color.
4If you put the "before" chair in the right surroundings, it would look good too. And I have to agree - the ruffles on the bottom are pretty awful.

6oops... double post, sorry!!
7love the zoolander reference.
the before is rather blah.. but i agree that it could work with the right accents or room decor. i like the colour and fabric of the after, but it could never work in my home.
