Right now, I've been stacking my books à la Sapien Bookcase. But, on a traditional bookcase, I think a mix of stacked and standing books gives a space a casual, not-so-stiff vibe. What about you?

I stand mine, and they're in alphabetical order by author.
1I stand mine up, and have organized it differently, but right now its by color.
2Mine are just a mix but that's partially because I have run out of room on the book shelf and need to do something about it.
3I stand mine. I would love to organize them by color, but they just don't seem to be very colorful! I probably have one pink book for every five black books.
4my husband was giving me flack for mixing things up on the book shelf and he called me crazy for it! I thought it looked interesting.
5Ours are mixed (standing and stacked), and they're organized by genre.
6mine are all standing and I like them like that so they're all uniform. Once we move I'm going to sort them alphabetically. I'm excited to buy new bookcases!
7My books are stacked, while my DVDs stand.
8Actually, I have stopped buying paper books in order to save trees. I go online to get them and use an ebook reader. There are sites like http://www.freebooksearch.com that helps you find online books for free!
Then I download it and save a tree.
Sometimes my friends would ask me what to do if you find a book online in CHM (ebook) format? How do you read it if you don't have an ebook reader like the Kindle?
Simple! Firefox has a CHM reader plugin, so now anyone can read any ebook. Free!
9I always stand my books and organize them.
10I feel like mixing it up is always the way to go in most homes. That is unless you live in a mansion w/ a formal library. In those you have to go straight up.
