I don't think it's a coincidence that the month October and the color orange both begin with the letter "o." The two are practically synonymous . . . in my mind, at least. Fall leaves, pumpkins, clementines, Chinese lanterns — the list goes on. So, I thought I'd round up some of my favorite orange home décor items. While they're all fabulous, if I were you I'd try to exercise a little restraint and just pick up a few of your faves — unless you're someone like Karim Rashid, who wears only two colors. Unless you've got a room full of girly pastels, I think orange is a really versatile color, that will warm your home and give it a contemporary look.

My son's best friend mother is an orange color fanatic. Practically everything in her house is orange. Her living room has orange leather couches with different shades of orange decor here and there. Mind you, she painted her living room walls in a color block pattern, every third color being orange. Everytime I go to her house I feel like i'm trapped in a dizzying LEGO blocks house. I swear my blood pressure goes up whenever i'm there.
1I got some really fabulous orange pillows at Pier One last month that look awesome in my living room. I wasn't sure they would work, but the orange helps make the room cozy and welcoming...perfect for the fall!

3I've never been partial to orange, but I've seen it used really well lately so it's growing on me as an accent color. I love the plate in the center.
