When I leave the office and head home, the last thing on earth I want to do is sit at a desk, even if I have bills to pay and thank-you notes to write. So, while there may be "an office" in my house, I rarely use it, even when I'm working from home. If there's any official household business to be conducted, you're likely to find me getting it done while curled up on the couch with my shoes off. But, don't think for a second my home office isn't as stylish as I am!

No choice - having a home business in addition to a 9-5 means that I have to have a real workspace. It could use some beautifying, though.
I think I'm the only person who likes setting up shop in my dining room, haha.
I'm trying to set one up in my "keeping room" which right now is empty. Unfortunately the colors I have to work with are dark and blah -- dark tile floors and camel walls. I'm thinking about a cream and goldenrod color scheme for my rug/furniture/etc. I think those colors might be warm enough to go with the existing colors. What do y'all think? Thanks!
Sure do! Our 3rd bedroom is ity bity, so the only thing we really could do with it is turn it into an office. The old owners were using it as a nursery, but we don't have any little ones :]
My DH and I love to hangout in our office. We put on some great music while he does homework or studies and I chill in our big leather chair and read a book or surf the web on the macbook.
home office/ last hold-out for my husband's "single" furniture and accessories, lol.
I do, but I tend to use it as a craft/wrapping room more than for "office" stuff....I used to work from home, but now my office is more of a fun room for me
I would love to have an extra room in the condo for "office" purposes. I would just love to have an extra room!
We've almost always had a seperate room just for the computer, but we are just turning it into a real office. We have a great color scheme (light teal and grey, with chocolate brown accents) with carpet and drapes, an old leather office chair we are re-upholstering, and we just bought some cabinets and a countertop to do a built in along the back wall. We have cd cabinets that look like old library card catalogs for my dad's collection and will be hanging up his guitars and applying jazzy art deco finishing touches.
i work from home so a home office is a must. I just wish we could afford nicer desks
