Designed in 2004 by Max Longin, a German designer and mathematician, the Float Bed was inspired by the idea of suspension. This unusual design also comes in unusual packaging. The bed can be easily packed away and moved, since the packaging is part of the frame itself.
To see what the bed looks like when it's assembled, read more.
Float, which starts at $6,200, is made up of four stainless steel cords attached to wooden rods and steel bows. And lest you're concerned about the bed's stability, rest assured knowing that it can hold up to 2,645 lbs!

While this might not be the bedframe for everyone, I'm sure it will strike a chord for the minimalist modern lovers out there. Are you a fan?

allthough it is not really my style i like it
1Somehow, with my crazy sleep habits, I don't think this would be a good bed for me. I need something solid and ON the ground.
2Well, this IS on the ground even though it doesn't give that idea. My problem is more with the corners that stand out higher than the mattress.
3It's very neat looking and all, but it doesn't look very sturdy or comfortable. I would be too afraid to, ya know, in fear of breaking something that cost so much!
4I love this and want it now. Wish it wasn't so expensive.
5Hrm... looks sort of uncomfortable... that thin, linen-look mattress is giving me futon-flashbacks!
6It would be awesome for a guest bed instead of an inflatable, but it's way too expensive for that.
7I can see my sister with something like this but I am more of a sleigh bed kinda girl - if we are going for dream beds, or something I need stairs to get into.
8i love it, maybe it's just the angle but it reminds me of a nest, and that seems comfy.
plus, from a practical point of view, it could be great for sex haha... most beds only give you handlebars at the top and bottom but this way you can grab on or push off from any side.
9I think it's lovely! Amazing how sturdy it loks.
10Its cool looking but wouldnt fit my house or wallet
11If that's my bedroom view I don't care what my bedroom looks like.
That thin mattress does concern me a little, though.
12Visually it is a stunning piece of design. Price-wise, it's a bit too much for my wallet, but in a swanky modern chi-chi hotel somewhere in the Netherlands...this would be perfect!
13I wouldn't mind it for a sun room lounger, but I don't think I could sleep on it comfortably.
14totally would do for a guest bedroom... so cool
15meh.
16this is so cool! i would love to buy one!
17ooo that's kinda neat. very diffrent, at least in my opinion
18I shared this with my sister and she said, "OoooH. You could have a real slumber party on that thing, if you know what I mean."
*wink, wink* *nudge, nudge*
Indeed I do sis, indeed I do.
19Well, isn't that interesting?
20cool! looks like something i'd like to sleep on on vacation or in someone's guest room
