Tuning into "The Dark Night" episode of Gossip Girl, I couldn't help but notice that the set of Philipe Starck Louis Ghost Chairs in Blair Waldorf's dining room weren't naked as usual. The polycarbonate chairs had been dressed up with silk shantung chair pads, giving them less of a transparent look. Personally, I think the chair pads detract from Starck's vision for the chair: a modern reinterpretation of the Louis XIV chair, which is upholstered. But, from a purely aesthetic perspective, they don't look half bad here in Blair's home. And, seeing as the gossip girl lives in a quite traditional abode (unlike Chuck Bass's bachelor pad), I think the chair pads make the very modern chairs more appropriate for the setting. What do you think? Oh also: did anyone notice how there's only wallpaper on one half of the room? Weird!

OMG I fell in love with them!! Thanks for telling me where they are from. Def need those.
I didn't see the episode, but I love them in the picture!
I really like the chairs with the paddings. instead of modernizing the traditional, it looks more like it is traditionalizing the modern. lol
ha- that wallpaper thing is strange....
That wallpaper is ...interesting? This might be a nice way to warm up the chairs for winter, can you see how they are attached?
I've never watched this show.. but I love those chairs - both with and w/out the pads. and the wallpaper thing is weird.. I wonder what their vision was with that?
Wow I didn't catch the wallpapere till it was mentioned, good eye!
I am obsessed with the ghost chair and I noticed the cushions immediately. I think they're really appropriate for the Waldorf apartment. I guess I was so distracted by the chairs I didn't notice the wallpaper. WEIRD!
maybe they're still in the midst or redecorating so the wallpaper isn't fully up? *sssssssssttttttttttttttretchhhhhhhhhhhhhh*
where can i get the louis ghost chairs cushions/covers??
Yah, Gossip Girl really knows their style - kudos to those set designers. My favorite of their style choices was the custom Eames Lounger upholstered in Missoni Chevron fabric that was used in the Bass/Van der Woodsen ultra chic and trendy apartment.
I own some of the chairs and I have to say the cushions look rubbish, distracts from the concept and makes them look cheaper, starks lamps are also great icon classics
