The Dominic Wilcox War Bowl ($400) for Areaware is an art piece made from melted and partially melted plastic toy soldiers, that makes "a statement on the futility of war." It's also available in red, white, or blue. Coincidence? I think not. If you wanted to eat your Top Ramen out of it, or decorate with apples in it, you'd be out of luck: it cannot support food. What do you think? Would you put this bowl in your home? Do you agree with the statement it tries to make?

Hate it. It just looks too ugly/weird for my taste.
1It's great as art. Reminds me of my childhood friend's older brother who was always melting soldier men or gluing them to things. I think it's cool. Must have smelled bad when she melted them though.
2i don't like it
3I have lots of strange art in my collection, like a wall hanging in the shape of a flag that is made out of bullet casings so this is right up my alley!
4I think this is awesome. If it wasn't $400, I would buy it for my brother in a heartbeat. He has always loved "army guys." This would be perfect for him.
5I love it. I think I might be crazy enough to pay that much for it too!
6Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha NO!!!
7.... how exactly does it make a statement about the futility of war? :S
8I think it's kind of cool, with the following exceptions-
1. $400 is a bit much
2. Don't agree with the artist's philosophy
But, that's just me.
9I think it's pretty neat. I can't justify spending $400 though.
10definitely tasteless! Isn't there enough war and fighting in the world? Who wants icons of war and death on his dinner table?
11Futility of war? I cant's see that expressed in this weird object.
