I couldn't help noticing the spoon collection on the wall behind Betty Draper in an episode of Mad Men. My grandmother had one just like it, down to the wooden case. My mom never carried on this tradition, and I certainly haven't. What do you think? Could spoon collections make a comeback?

I have a spoon colletion from my husband's aunt. If I can figure out a cool way to display them (other than a traditional spoon rack), I will.
1kmarlem, perhaps a modern shadowbox would be an idea...
2hmmm...my grandma still has hers...and yea I am not a fan!
3Too funny !!! When I was 16 I worked at a hotel / restaurant/ truck stop called the Deck. I worked in the gift shop and we sold state spoons to tourists. I sold a ton of them. They were like $2.oo a piece. I live in Illinois and people would buy Missouri and Wisconsin because they had passed through those states.
4I remember a really great Blueprint or Domino spread where the spoons were all mounted to a painted board. It was really modern and not at all fussy, but I can't find it now...
5Not a fan. Trend or not, you won't find me collecting any sort of spoons.
6My Grandma had one too! Every vacation we went on, we would buy her a new spoon for her collection. Not sure what happened to it... but I won't be hanging one in my apartment!
7I do. The trick is to paint the old wooden rack either white or a funky color, depending on your decor. Then it looks pretty cool!
8My collection is stored all over the place. I collect spoons whenever I travel and ask my friends and fam to grab spoons for me too. Each spoon brings back memories of a great trip or reminds me of the loving person who gave it to me.
9I don't, but my Mom does. So I imagine I might have one someday by default. It's not something I am into, though.
10Quite honestly I try to avoid "collections" of anything. Buying and keeping something simply b/c I have tons of other things just like it sounds like a way of getting WAY TOO MUCH STUFF.
No thanks. Books are the only thing we're allowed to have too many of in our house.
