Luxury publisher Assouline has teamed up with French trunkmaker Goyard to release a trunk custom-made to store 100 of Assouline's chic photo-biographies on art, fashion, design, and architecture. You can get your Goyard Trunk for the measly price of $20,000. Gotham magazine says, "You're guaranteed a great read as well as a chic tote." Well . . . I'd hope so for 20k. Tell me, if you had the dough, would you like one for yourself?

Now I love reading and I collect hard cover books, but this is hideous. Maybe if the trunk wasn't so ugly, I would have said yes.
1Eek, did I read that price tag right? $20,000?! I could take my dad's military trunk, turn it vertical, screw in some boards on both sides, paint the outside and I'd have that for one-quarter of the price!
I could even keep the camouflage outside if I wanted a more vintage-military look! I could keep it horizontal if I wanted. It's ridiculous what people will spend on something that's an easy DIY project. Growing up in a military family moving base to base has helped me look at new ways to use old things. Moving every three or four years means you have to be efficient and not have a huge pile of junk. I have my knick knacks and tchotchkes from 12 years of moving, but I can still pack my room in one day, two days tops.
2Absolutely.....NOT!!!! Hideous logo!
3LOVE those--and so totally Joe v. the Volcano.
4I think I'm in love
5Scribbit, SO Joe v. the Volcano! I was thinking the same thing.
