Not all dudes decorate with high school sports trophies and rock posters. In fact, there are some absolutely design-savvy guys in my circle of friends.

How do you define masculine interior design? Does it involve darker colors? Earth tones? Leather? Are antlers involved? Furthermore, have you been influenced or impressed by any of your male friends' design savvy? Tell me by commenting below!

OMG my beau is a designer by day, and designer by night. He always likes to put colours together on the walls that may go well for his magazine cover but look DREADFUL day in day out. And he likes really kitsy furniture, we have completely different tastes.
1My boyfriend's idea of design includes the use of vivid primary colors and still thinks IKEA stuff is his style. I on the other hand love dark colors and earth tones... I'd love to get my hands on some smart mascualine design...
2My husband's style is rugged cowboy meets whatever kitchy crap my mom buys me. Not beautiful!!! I'm gradually integrating my style into OUR house
3**I meant to say HIS mom, not MY mom. His mom is the reason why we own a brightly-colored, toll painted washboard that says "Laundry service: 25 cents. Open 24 Hours." mmmkay...
4My boyfriend's style is very tech centric. Black and white with simple geometric patterns and subdued hues of blue-gray (the color was for my benefit). His accessories are all media inspired: piles of dvds, magazines, and games with a light wood ikea tv stand for the giant flatscreen and video game systems. He did buy some vintage inspired battlestar galactica "propaganda" posters that we want to frame and put in the media room eventually.
5Scott bought our house before we got together. he know what he wanted and got it, which is leather and earth colors, which i like too.
6all of the above. I think the key to doing masculine style (for MOST men) is to keep the colors simple but to use lots of texture. I do like to throw in a pop of color though. The furnishings above would look great with deep wine red accents.
7I love the style depicted in the picture! Dark colours and earthy tones are sexy .. is that weird to say?
