The thing you all are forgetting is that you could not make IT or buy IT at IKEA. It is from the 1930's and is a design pioneer. You could imitate it and make a look alike. But you did not make it up. Just like art when people say "I could paint that", they didn't. Someone else did. They could now paint a copy. There is a difference.
And the price must be because it is rare. Still I wouldn't spend 10,000 on this.

i completely agree with robinesque. too many furniture items are going for waaay above the price that they are worth.
go to a junk yard. you can find some great items there to make your own furniture. that is if you like that hobo-chic thing.
