This Wrought Iron Gate ($650) from Italy in the 1900s has clearly seen better days, and might detract from your home's curb appeal if you set it in front of your lawn. But despite its wear and tear, its slightly bent out of shape fleur-de-lys spires, missing pieces, and rusted exterior give it a visually interesting and much-loved architectural quality. 
So, for this challenge, I'd like you to tell me how you'd use it in (or outside of) your home, other than as a gate. Would you hang it up as wall décor? Would you lean it against a wall as a sculpture? Would you turn it into a dining table, using an iron base and a glass top? Would you paint it? Would you use it as a headboard? Hang lights from it as a chandelier? Tell me by commenting below!

Clean it up, turn it on it's side, add support underneath... headboard in a guest room if it is long enough.
1i like the idea of a headboard but for myself - i think that i might hang it on a wall....with a mirror behind it and then add some candles below it. it would have a great affect being some type of candle mood lighting thing. but that's just a thought...

I would hope I'd have enough for a kingsize bed to work with. I'd probably go bronze or maybe even magenta with it.
5Fireplace...
6I'd cut the ends stickin out... give it a good cleaning (but wouldnt paint it or fix it up), then i'd put it on my dresser... leaning it against the wall & i'd hang mirrors from it... one large one in the middle... maybe to small ones or maybe some old photos in frames...
7It would make a nice trellis in a garden.

Maybe on the wall to replace/cover my ugly air intake

Alexg, I was thinking the same, it would look great. With some elbow grease would be great for te following too:
... in front of a fireplace
... hanging on an exterior wall, in the garden
...add a waterpump and some bowls and make it into a garden fountain
...with climbing flowering plants for hiding the trash bin in the backyard
10it strikes me as a shabby chic piece so i'd use it in a smaller room where big pieces on the wall would be overwhelming. maybe as a headboard of a twin guest bed or even in a little girls room and attach hooks to use for hanging robes, jackets, bags and other girly stuff. (i would also adorn it with ribbons that would match the bedding...usually a pale pink plaid)
11I'd place some wooden shelves on it and use it as either a spice rack or in another room to display some photographs on it.
