The color gray has been calling my name these days, so I want to sing its praises in return. While the color does naturally make a perfect neutral — half-way between white and black! — it can also be bold if you use a lot of it all at once. Since it's so subdued, it doesn't have the same visual offensiveness that, say, mixing several shades of pink would. Because entirely gray rooms are few and far between, it's enchanting to stumble into one.
I recommend mixing varying shades of gray, as well as different textures and patterns to add interest. Then, throw in some mercury glass, mirrors, and silver elements to add shimmer. Try gray on different material as well: metal, wood, glass, and textiles. I've created a look that is entirely gray to illustrate these points, which you yourself can replicate if you'd like it. I like it.
You totally read my mind with this post. I am obsessed grey and cannot wait to incorporate it into my home.
I liek the grey on the walls. Like that strip going around!
can you recommend similar paint colors as the ones in the picture? I want to do the same thing but am really worried about getting a gray that ends up looking light blue.

this look!!
OMG I love this room! I'd be afraid to do it in my house cause it might end up looking dreary, but the white really punches it up here! My favorite thing is that chandalier! Its very wow!
Ohh, such a great spin. You have given me a new idea. I like, really like.
what a stunning room...
I love Candace Olsen.
I like the room and I agree with Naeski...the chandelier is just fantastic!!
I've been loving gray a lot! I think it looks so sophisticated and it's so easy to punch it up with one great color. My bedroom is gray with white and black furniture and plum damask bed linens. It's the most calming and soothing room in the house. We're doing the bathroom next in a multi-hued gray pinstripe!
CoralAmber- that sounds so nice. I hope you post pics when you all are done.
Oh my goodness I love this look, grey is a surprisingly calming wall color to me & its very sophisticated. I love the stripe in the wall too.
Perfect!
Ohhh I love this look!!! I want SO badly to paint our bedroom grey, but my husband won't stand for it. He wants *cringe* brick red. I don't think I can do that! At least not in the bedroom. Maybe a reading nook. Or the inside of a pantry...heh heh
