Recently, I was reading about your significant others' cleaning efforts around the house in the Housecleaning Support Group on TeamSugar. Cocoangel shared that her husband is actually a good housecleaner. My favorite part of her comment, though, was her observation that, "[t]he best thing is that a few years ago I pointed out that I couldn't make the bed until he got out of it, which is usually anywhere from one to two hours after I get up. So we instituted the 'last one out of bed, makes the bed' rule. I love it!"
If you're living with somebody special, but you're tired of always making the bed then I suggest you try Cocoangel's bed rule in your household. It'll either make you get out of bed earlier (perhaps making more time for a morning workout), or improve your technique with hospital corners. It's worth a try!

Thanks for the shout out casa! Since I'm a morning person & do get up the minute I'm awake, I think I've made the bed maybe twice in the past year. Probably a negotiation that my hubby is rethinking :-\
1We've been doing the last one out of bed rule for a while. We instituted it while our house was on the market and have kept doing it pretty consistently. It doesn't take much to make our bed - we have a sheet and a thin blanket and a couple toss pillows. It's all very simple and a made bed can make the room look a lot less cluttered.
2We do it too.
3My BF is being much better about keeping things clean.
I got home just the other day from the gym and he had vacuumed, emptied the dishwasher & picked up his stuff in the living room!
Can we clone your BF, ella1978?
4My husband is the same way. He always cleans up. I do the deep cleaning but he is more particular about keeping it picked up. I could care less.
5I always make the bed...I like it a certain way and my husband can't do hospital corners!
6That is a great rule. Especially b/c my boyfriend and I both like the bed made but don't like making it.
