For those of you hoping to get the look of a modern rustic kitchen, the Hudson English Reading Chair ($2,850) couldn't be more appropriate. The vintage leather chair from England with a blue and brown plaid wool cushion and nailhead trim is a perfect stand-in for the handsomely worn leather chair tossed with a velvet pillow in that kitchen. But the Hudson chair is also a Pandora's box of sorts: its arms open to expose a pen tray on one side and a writing table on the other! I'd argue that this is absolutely the best chair for reading the morning paper while your eggs are cooking — after all, you can grab a pen from the arm if you need to fill in the New York Times crossword. What's not to love?

Oh... Do NOT let my husband see this. He's been after me to accept a LazyBoy recliner thing and I am deadset against it. He wants a big cushy thing and that is so counter to my decor.
Heck - Look what happened with your hammock post. You post about one. I say I don't want it because I have no place to hang one and what does DC come home with -- Go on. Guess.
Yep. A hammock. Does it have a frame? No.
Do we have a place to hang it? No.
On top of that it's a yardsale find and macrame no less.
Anyone in the room that thinks I have any relationship whatsoever with anything macrame should [please] go stand in the corner.
Sheesh, Casa, but you may be the jinx of me yet.
1I do NOT love this chair, but my husband would go crazy for it...
2Oh my lord is that thing ugly. I love nailhead trim but that plaid cushion really ruins it for me. Makes an otherwise stately, masculine piece just sad and dated in my opinion.
3There is nothing atractive nor appealing about this chair. Eek!
4Not a fan of the chair but I LOVE that pillow. I must have it.
5Just throw in an afghan, pipe, and slippers and it will make the perfect grandpa chair.
6It's cute but it's not my style.
7oi...not picking up a good feel for this.
8hehe i love how people say that their husbands would love it, it makes me laugh, Its like a husband thing, they get together and look at ugly chairs and grow fond to the style. lol
