We talk often about ditching plastic bags in favor of resuable shopping bags and recycling whatever you can. But, no matter how hard you work to be environmentally conscious, at the end of the day (or week), you still have to take out the trash. Someone still has to take out the trash.

I use their compost pail liners. My compost pail is pretty big (http://www.gardeners.com/Copper%20Finish%20Compost%20Pail/20707,36-678,d...) and these fit well - there is a couple of inches of overlap. They wouldn't work well for smaller compost pails, IMO.
They really are compostable! Mine are unidentifiable in the compost bin after a couple of weeks. You can't leave then in your pail too long or they will start breaking down in the pail -- I take mine out about every 5 days.

2I was just thinking about this the other day how many of the bags we use for garbage are not biodegradable. I'll have to look into these. Now if I could get my husband and roommate to remember to bring the canvas bags to the grocery store!

5I just found these on my last trip to Wal-Mart (I HATE shopping there, but when you need a lot on a budget, what can you do). Anyway, I can't wait to try them.
