One of the most sensible ways to deal with clutter (and consumerism) is to abide by this rule: "Every time you bring something new into your home, something else must leave." Since I bring you wonderful home décor products day in and day out, you'd laugh in my face if I told you to stop shopping — wouldn't you? But, if you get in the habit of recycling or donating one possession before you bring home another, you'll not only prevent clutter in your home but you might actually feel good about yourself. That's not to say that when you finally save up for an ottoman, you should get rid of your matching armchair, but you should routinely get rid of things you genuinely don't need or want. Just as you'd organize your desk, keep an outbox of things you can part with. It's the only healthy way to purge.

If I did this our house would be nakey! lol We just bought it in January and we're still working on decor. The furniture is mostly all new, but the walls are still pretty bare.
1It is a goal to strive for.. not that it will ever happen.
2I buy way too much home decor "crap" as I've been told. I need a bigger apt.
3I hate clutter, so it really doesn't stand a chance in my home. And I do get rid of things I don't like or use anymore on a fairly regular basis.
4I buy during my manic episodes and purge during my depressive ones. I, too, buy a lot of home decor "crap."
5what clutters my house are books, clothes and shoes.
6I declutter quite regularly as I too hate clutter...so that's not a problem.
7It would be great to have a Sugar Yard Sale online for people to post stuff they are getting rid of. Sort of like craigslist...but way savvier.
