How-To: Rewiring an Overhead Fixture

Before You Start, Get a Test Pen!

Use an electric test pen to make sure that there isn't any voltage running through the wiring. Even if the switch is turned off, there still may be voltage running through. It is always a good idea to switch off the circuit breaker. Better safe than sorry!
