Why not just take fewer showers?!

eeeek fewer showers? I have to take a shower everyday... but I must say, I'm the quickest shower-taker in the west
No, seriously, I'm in and out under 5 most days, when I put conditioner in my hair it takes longer.
But another good way of conserving water is to shut it off when you lather... get wet, turn off water, soap and shampoo, and turn it back on for a quick rinse!

I already take really short showers. I don't need a timer.

I take very short showers as well. I make sure I lather up very well and I'm in and out in less than 10 min.

I would use the timer for son though, I have no clue why he takes so long and still comes out the looking same way he went in!!

I would not use it. Sometimes i take quick showers and other days i don't, it all evens out. I don't want to be timed.

I take really quick showers and I too am out in 5 min or less, but I can't say the same about my upstairs neighbors. (I know, it's bad when you can hear how long their water is running...) but she takes 30 minute showers every day! Literally, 30 minutes from 7:00am-7:30am. Maybe I should leave this on her doormat.

I seriously need to get one of these for my 16 year old.

I don't tend to dawdle in the shower.

I might offer a more significant contribution by training myself to shut down the water while my hair conditions.

I think I would use it more if it told me how many gallons of water I was using as the minutes ticked by.

what some of you don't realise is that in other parts of the world, you have to have 3 minute showers. Your water use is monitored by the government and if you go over, you DO get fined. In certain parts of Australia, where I am originally from, its limited to 3 minute showers once a day, and something like 140 litres a day per person.

The government sends out hour glass timers in the post to all households semi regularily. If you use too much water you wont be able to drink anything out of the tap!!! When there are only a few months of water left in the dams you will start thinking about it!

Take a minute to think of others in the world and cut down your showers. I still do even though I am in the UK and we don't have water problems.

On topic, I love ducks so I'm considering buying one of these bad boys... would suit me to a T!

I already do use a kitchen timer to keep me on track -- I'm such a time waster in the morning. But the environmental aspect is just another motivation.

No I wouldn't use it, but my daughter DEF needs one! I swear I don't know what she does. It takes her 10 minutes just to get IN the shower and then she's in there for about a half hour. Never fails!

And I agree with gemsera. There are so many places in the world experiencing food and water rationing right now. Imagine a day without water and how it would affect you. Then try ... simply try to find ways to conserve. No one's asking you to be a martyr. If you like longer showers - then maybe taking a bath is a more resourceful way to keep the time but use less water.

I should start using this cute lil ducky! I must admit that taking showers is one of my fav things...i like them hot and long! I think i'll start by shutting the water in between shampoo/conditioner/shower gel...but even that is hard for me to do!

I would use it simply because I tend to forget about time in the morning. IA timer in the shower would probably make me more punctual!

actually this would be good for my 9 year old and 6 year old. since they both take showers and love to just take their time, they sometimes will run the hot water out!

Thank goodness I don't live in a country that tells me how long to stay in the shower. Fer cryin' out loud, our lives get interfered with enough as it is here.

I agree with asilgrif- I don't want to micromanage myself. I have timed classes, timed commutes, and timed workdays. The last thing I want to do is time myself in the shower.

ugh, I really do need one of these, but I LOVE my long showers and baths. I don't think I'd enjoy them anymore with a countdown clock in front of me.

Sometimes instead of turning off my alarm I hit snooze, but get up and brush my teeth, gather my clothes and get in the shower. I can hear the alarm go off at 20 min so at least that keeps me on track. I tend to loose track of time in the shower, which can lead to being late...

I NEED THIS!!! Every morning i tell my self 15 minutes...30 later I'm rushing around like a crasy person!!!!

I wouldn't use it.
I try to be as quick as I can anyways, so if I happened to go over the timer one day I'd just turn it off - it wouldn't speed me up!

I thikn this would make my showers less relaxing... sometimes I head into the shower and just sort of hang out there for a while, not paying attention to the time I go in or the time I go out.

If I knew exactly how long I was in the shower, that would make me a bit nervous and gittery.
