According to Big Time, Scarlett Johansson has sold her 1,300-square-foot duplex loft in Manhattan's Tribeca neighborhood for nearly $1.89 million. The starlet purchased the unit for nearly $1.95 million in January of 2006, meaning she took a loss on this sale, perhaps thanks to the looming housing crisis. But, a loss of $52,000 is uncommon in Manhattan, if not everywhere, so perhaps next time Johansson should hire a more experienced broker. The loft sits in a former textile building, a Beaux Arts landmark designed by renowned architect Henry Janeway Hardenbergh, which was built in 1901. The listing reads:
An airy, state-of-the-art duplex, this loft features 22-foot ceilings, hand-painted Tuscan walls, Brazilian cherry wood floors, Limestone fireplace and double-height windows. The chef's kitchen is perfect for entertaining with Sub-Zero refrigerator, wine cooler, Thermador 36-in wide 6-burner gas range, Asko dishwasher and honed Burlington black stone counters. A lavish powder room/full 2nd bath greets guests downstairs while the master bath is complete with double sinks, European pod-shaped soaking tub, and 5-fixture shower.
No need to offer this Tom Waits cover girl a couch to crash on; she still has her
$7 million Hollywood Hills pad to call home.

Bummer.
1amazing loft, I'd never want to leave it! Too bad she had to sell it for a loss.
2It's gorgeous. It sucks that she had to take a loss for it but she's got enough money that it doesn't matter.
3probably sold it to a friend or at a lower price for a tax write off. there are enough freaks around that would pay to to god knows what in her former bedroom. i have a friend looking to buy there now; there is no slow down in that real estate market. we just don't have all the information here.
4I wish I had a place like that.
5that's a cool spot
6Wow - beautiful!
7the price of new york real estate never ceases to astound me.
8I don't like it that much. It looks sad and boring!
9Hi lickety split, the person who bought the property was her neighbor. He said, "I’m only comfortable saying so much, but basically I lived next door; it was simply a question of expanding if the apartment was available."
10Its a nice place
11Stunning. I hope the neighbor/buyer doesn't change it too much.
12its a nice place. if i had the money i'd buy it, too bad she lost out tho
13umm, have you watched cnbc lately, of course she sold it for less than what she got. housing market sucks for everyone, even the rich.
14I can't wait until I am able to afford a nice NYC pad.
1522 foot ceilings? And I thought my 11 foot ceiling was impressive
