If your kitchen cabinets can be mistaken for a 1-800-Flowers inventory shelf full of plain glass vases, it may be time to spice them up a bit and put them to work. This project will help you transform the run of the mill to something that's distinctly you (and a bit Tord Boontje, too). Or, if you're just looking for a bulk of inexpensive yet elegant vases for your wedding, perhaps, this is the DIY for you. You can pick up the supplies (vases included) at your local crafts store, and get your rub on!

Supplies:

• Clear, glass vase
• Glass cleaner and paper towels
• Rub-on transfers (online sources: Two Peas in a Bucket and Lifetime Moments)
• Scissors
• Burnisher tool (popsicle stick will do)

Here's how, from DIY Bride:

1. Clean the vase with the glass cleaner. Wipe off, and let it dry completely.
2. Cut out the design you want to transfer from your rub-on sheet.
3. Place the design sticky side down onto the outside of the glass.
4. Hold the transfer in place using one hand, and use the burnisher to rub the back of the design with the other. Press down firmly; you may have to do this several times to get it to stick.
5. As you rub, peel up the edges of the paper a bit, so you can see where the transfer isn't sticking. Continue to rub until it all sticks.
