To celebrate 50 years of the iconic Arne Jacobsen Egg chair, artist Tal R has created 50 unique designs of the chair, which were revealed this past week at the furniture fair in Milan. The 50 designs will be exhibited at Galleria Carla Sozzani through April 27, and then will travel to galleries and museums around the world.

The patchwork-quilt Egg chair designs are made from materials collected in such far corners as Istanbul and Denmark. "The whole point was to make a chair that tells a multitude of stories. So the pieces of cloth had to be full of life. It should look a bit as if it was homemade," explains Tal R.
I love this unexpected take on the Egg chair. Are you a fan as well?

Funky.
1hmm I like the idea. I'd be really picky about color and fabric though, for instance I do not care for the pattern of that one in the forefront at all.
2No, not really a fan...I hate the prints and patterns in this pic.
3I think they are uber tacky:) sorry...I have my egg chair in red wool...it's super sexy and I love love love it!
4i like the patchwork.
5I think their shape is cute. I'm not a fan of the patch work.
6dont like the chair nor the print
7Awesome! I like all of them except the patriotic looking one.
8I can imagine some of my friends having these... I'd like a similar chair with some green and brown colors.. I like earthly-tone colors
9Here is another egg chair remix that you might find interesting : http://the-egg-chair.com/the-egg-chair-gets-a-3d-leather-covering
10Really uggly!
11When you think about how much costs the making of an egg covering. This fancy exhibition cost more than 100 000 euros, just in the making, plus 100 000 euros for the Egg chairs themselves! Not really what I call a true artistic happening, but a real marketing ludicrous idea to create a buzz around the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Egg chair. Poor Arne Jacobsen, they perverted your creation!
