If you happen to be in Kobe, Japan, make sure to ride the rails, since through May 6th, the train is decked out in Ikea seating and textiles. The Kobe Portliner Monorail has been decorated in Ikea gear to celebrate the launch of an Ikea store at Port Island.

I know that I get tired of the bland interiors of my train. Don't you think it would be refreshing and reinvigorating to ride in one of these?

What a great way to advertise. Although I can imagine the condition those sofas will be in when the ad campaign is over lol
1Wow, I'd love to ride in there. It looks party-ready, lol. Party on the train! But, yes, I'd want to go while it's still new. If they do manage to keep it nice, that would certainly perk up a commute. A train that favors a living room cooler than most--GREAT advertising idea.
2I would love it if CalTrain or Bart looked that fun!
3Funky!
4That is so cool.
5Ikea + Japan = hilarious train. It's a logical conclusion.
6when i saw this online over the weekend i thought you'd like it, Casa!
i love it,
myself!
7Sweet!
8That is awesome. The subway system in NYC needs some sprucing up maybe with the new IKEA opening in Brooklyn hopefully, this could be a possibility.
9Maybe the japanese travelers will be clean? Hey its a great way to test out the durability of the fabrics... if it can make it thru japans rush hour it can hold up to ur 3 year old kid and a few pets... good to know for shopping moms
10Cool idea.
11I would love to take this train every morning...
