I love buying charming little plates and repurposing for something nonkitchen related. These Novelty Cocktail Plates ($12.99, normally $19) come in a set of four, which includes two frogs and two birds. Though they're dishwasher safe, I'd forgo placing edibles on these and use them for other house-decorating purposes. I'm loving the idea of seeing these cute plates on an entry table, used to hold change, keys, or mail. How would you use them?

These are adorable. My husband's Grandmother always had the cutest cocktail plates, I loved going to their house for the day and she'd put the little plates out for snacks before our formal sit down dinner... she was so good at entertaining - I sure miss her, but this brought up a nice memory.

i love these! you could also put a nice pillar candle on one...and that way you won't get melted wax on your coffee table.
