Blame it on my affection for Shakespeare plays and Greek myths, but I'm a sucker for satyrs. This Bronze Italian Planter ($5,800) features three cloven-hoofed satyrs supporting the intricately detailed bowl. I think it would look super amazing in a formal garden, but the question is, what would you fill it with?

For this latest How Would You, I'd like you to think about how you would fill this bronze planter. Would you fill it with purple violas? Pink asters? Maybe some long, trailing plants? Or maybe you will fill it with something absolutely unexpected. Leave a comment below and let me know how you'd plant this bronze beauty.

Before I put a plant in it I would use it for a patio party. Add a liner, fill it with ice and it makes the most amazing bottle cooler. After the party I think the best plant would be a Boston fern, with all its leaves draping over the sides. For pops of color, it would be cool to put a dozen or so Gerbera daisies in invididual water-filled vials and plop them in all around. I've used clear straws before to support the long daisy stems and keep them elevated.
1I'm not a big fan of ivy but I think it would look really pretty in this. You could definitely make it look really gorgeous. This isn't my type of item but I could appreciate it in someone else's garden.
2i think it'd make an interesting side table with a round piece of glass on top.
3Claire, that's a wonderful idea! I saw an idea on HGTV where they put a string of little white lights inside a table that was topped with glass. That would be cool for this too.
4You could add a little piece on top and make a birdbath! That would be cute.
5I want this! But not at so dear a price tag I'm afraid. I'd feel bad about putting a plant in there being an art history buff, but definitely something that creeps or pours over the side would satisfy me.
6The idea of a table sounds better than a planter. Wouldn't the water rust the bronze?
7I'd use it as a planter, that's about it.
8if i had this, i'd sell it and use the money to pay off my college loans.
9I wouldn't fill it. I'd get rid of that ugly thing!
