I used to swear up and down that I would never put cute little statues of gnomes or other imaginary creatures in my garden beds. It just seemed too kitschy to me. But then, after only one season of gardening, I gave in. There was a plastic dinosaur in my strawberry patch, a buddha head in my rose bushes, and this adorable wooden koi fish in my vegetables. So what happened? Well, no one can accuse my garden design of being spare and modern. I guess in the end, I'm just a sucker for cute imaginary creatures. Oh well.

How about you? Do you put statuary in your garden? Tell me all about it in the comments.

i have tiny gnomes in my potted plants...
1ok, so i felt the same way about the lil garden dudes but as my garden grew i grew also... grew into liking them! i don't have to many. the right amount for me. you almost have to look for them to see them.
2I have two stakes in the front of my house - one has a butterfly on top, hummingbird on the other. They use to light up at night, but they died not long after I brought them home.
I am still developing my backyard, but I am sure I will have some cutesy things hanging out with my flowers.
3I have an insect theme in my backyard - definitely not something I planned. I have a dragonfly and butterfly metal wall decor, spider plant stands and the cutest little bee statue. I know its sounds kitschy, but they make me smile. I think they make the yard fun!
4Too many would be tacky, but I think a few additions can add to the garden!
5Yeah sorta. I have a little bird on a rock that says welcome to our garden. I hate gnomes though, they're scary.
6Yes, I have a fairy that hangs from our ornamental plum tree, she's holding onto a long flower and at the bottom below her feet is a purple gazing ball. I also have a bird house in the shape of a church but it's tall and I have it sitting in the garden under the same tree mentioned above. In my Rose garden I have a large really pretty snail, I had another fairy but she recently got broken
and I have a really beautiful 3' tall angel who is holding what looks like a small
harp that has windchimes in it. I want more in my garden, but I'm picky so I have to find just the right things that I think will look good. I do want a fairy door and a cute gnome.
7I also would like a small gargoyle of somesort somwhere in the yard.
I have a few but I do have to agree and say too much is a bit trashy. I just have a ceramic bird feeder, a gazing ball and a turtle right by my door. I could go for a few more cute ones but I would have to say no more than 5; all depending on the size of your garden/house that is.
8I've got a collection of large, odd shaped stones in my flower garden, in the front of my home. They're all different types of stones. In the side flower garden, are a few ceramnic ducks.

10Not really - I haven't found anything that calls out to me enough yet. No one makes mice for the garden, that I've seen.
11Yes, I have a buddha head too!
12er....in my garden.....
13I've got tiny flower fairies in my potted plants inside, peeking around the stems. I was once given flamingos on sticks as a gift, and they're still in the box...
14never thought about thid but it sounds interesting so I might try it
15I mean "this "
