Tiny Texas Houses. This company constructs minuscule and beautiful homes ranging in size from 8-x-16 feet to 12-x-20 feet. These cool little houses are built with about 95 percent recycled materials, and look like original, older homes. Recycled materials include vintage lumber, original period windows, period doors, and original hardware. The houses are built to standard building codes and are well insulated and Tyvek wrapped. They come in five styles, including Victorian and ranch, and clients can choose from the company's huge warehouse of doors, windows, flooring, bead board, and other original detailing salvaged from older homes that have been torn down. Take a look at the gallery for some examples of these cool, tiny homes.

These are pretty neat!
1i want one but i doubt they'd survive a winter in quebec!
2those are absolutely adorable! Except I have no idea what I'd actually do with one. Use it as a play house? I bet I could fit one in my backyard.
3Those are great, unfortunately, not even a quarter of my crap would fit in there! Would make a great play house though! Great Idea krazykarot.
4I agree with ella1978, my stuff would never fit into that! I live alone in a 1 bedroom apartment & I still have stuffed stored at my sister's house!
)
5But, still they're too cute
Wow...
6I bet if these were built in Southern CA (where I live) they'd sell for over $400,000!
7Adorable! I could live in one.
8it's kinda neat.. they should have basements though- more room!
9Very interesting concept. I love the architectural details. Would be perfect for the minimalist single or couple. Not sure how resale value would be though? I can't see one of these sitting in a neighborhood of regular sized homes. I do like them though, just not sure how it works in the big picture.
10I did just think of an idea -these would make really cute cabins for weekend getaways.
11I love these! The salvaged architectural elements are lovely and have way more character than a modern prefab home.
12These are the extreme of all cuteness, but wildly impractical (and probably surprisingly expensive to purchase).
Other than a children's playhouse, it could be used as. . .((thinking)). . . a college kid's crash pad. (But he'd have to ask Mom and Dad if he could set it up in their back yard -- Oh, and it would probably cost more than four years of college tuition.)
Or it could be the mother-in-law suite for a less than favored family member. (Very handy if you own expansive land; your visiting relative might spend the length of the weekend just walking from her lodging to the main residence.)
13I think my couch is bigger than the house
14Why would you want something like this? My living room is bigger than that and I still need more space.
15impractical? yes,,,for some one with kids.but as single person i am sick of having few options because everything out there is built for family's.i should not have to be bound by the life decisions of the masses.plus i like the idea of not being enslaved for a 30 year mortgage just because i need a roof over my head..i can build something just like this but a lot cheaper(and just as nice).i have things too,a lot of it i don't need and for the things i do i can build or bye a shed for storage.we as Americans need to rethink our lives and unattached our selves from so many materiel things. to me high maintenance is just another word for spoiled. think of all the free time ,extra money , less stress and complication you could have in your life if you decided to live small? that's true freedom.
